Isn't it encouraging to see the work of the Lord. Amanda
Taylor, through dedication, faith, and a servant's heart,
reminded us just what it is all about. Do you ever wonder why sometimes we don't seem to see the Lord's presence on a day to day basis?
Do you question whether He will answer your prayers as you lay a problem in front of Him? The Lord's Prayer doesn't say pray for this job or that, this house or that. It says first to praise the name of our God, pray that his will be done, and follows by asking for our daily bread (the things we need).
If our prayers do not consider what God wants from us, then chances are we are unwilling to serve where he calls us to serve, or give what He calls us to give. If we desire to do His will, we will undoubtedly see His presence on a day to day basis. The widow's gift was only a couple of copper coins, but her act of giving was more than all the rich men.
If you have found this page, then maybe it's time to take a look out there at some of the missionaries' web sites, blogs, or newsletters. Using nothing more than a popular search engine brings you in touch with a multitude of answered prayers and God fearing, God loving, and God needing people. It can be difficult to see the Lord work from our favorite living room chair.
Amanda, however, has a vision to help us do just that. After serving in Uganda, she has returned and feels led to go back for more work. In the process, God seems to be directing her to return and send us back images, videos, and news of the work that goes on there. I can think of no better way to build our own personal faith then to watch the Lord work and answer prayers.
In the Lord's never ending cleverness, it seems he has a plan to help all of us at the
same time. With the act of giving, we get to receive as well and for those who are being helped, they are giving back to us in return. We give money, they give faith - I think we are getting the better deal.
Please consider supporting Amanda for this Mission. Through Prayer, Giving, and even Receiving, let the Lord's will be done. For encouragement, think about this: In 2008, roughly $2500.00 ran the entire school in Uganda for a month. This figure includes student housing, meals and eleven full time paid local teachers and staff and an enrolement of over 90 students. (2007) That's seventy-two people giving twenty-five dollars a month to run a whole school. SEE AMANDA'S LETTER HERE
